About Me

I am currently a teacher of a Senior Infant class in a medium sized, country school in Ireland. I was the blogger behind 'Senior Infant Adventures', a blog which discussed practical lesson ideas for Senior Infant teachers. I came up with the idea during my Dip year as I knew that I would find it easier to remember lessons I had taught with this format of cataloging of lessons as opposed to reading over pages of paperwork and folders. I continued to add to it over the course of three years. To me, blogging is never a chore and is something I love to do. It was a pleasant surprise therefore, to see how popular my blog became and I loved helping out other teachers all across Ireland.

I was faced with a problem a few years ago however, as I was teaching in a different class level. I felt that I had loads of ideas to share about teaching this class level and yet the format of my blog no longer provided me with the opportunity to do so. My blog was meanwhile becoming more general in terms of posts and I was afraid that I wasn't achieving my goal of creating an easy access point for lessons and thematic units anymore.

It was as a result of this that Primary School Lessons was born. To share thematic units and lesson ideas for all class levels, as I teach them. I hope this will prove as useful to you all as my previous blogging efforts and I will endeavour to add all old Senior Infant adventures posts to this blog for easy access also. Hope you enjoy the new blog!

  1. Just wanted to say, I used your website during my school placements, and always recommend your site to student teachers. Your ideas and resources are superb, and I would think the children in your classroom are very happy! Well done.
